Protection concept
The protection concept integrates the armoring cage into the passenger cell, including A, B and C pillars with overlaps, closed by laminated safety glass from European glass manufacturers.
Underbody protection against two DM51 hand grenades, a self-sealing fuel tank and an armored battery protect the critical systems, carried by reinforced front and rear axles and heavy-duty wheels. Reinforced heavy-duty hinges on all doors are mounted directly on the armoring cage.

TRASCO Engineering
An extended, armored SUV based on the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG carries substantial additional weight and must still drive like the standard vehicle. Chassis, brakes and wheels are re-engineered in Bremen for the armored gross weight.
Reinforced axles upgraded with sway bars, heavy-duty dampers and springs, matched to the armored weight of the extended body.
A high-performance brake system keeps deceleration safe at all times despite the increased vehicle weight.
Special tires with an increased load index on rims with a unique design and proven load capacity, including the run-flat system for emergency driving with a puncture, up to 15 km at 50 km/h.
The extension with enlarged, square-design rear doors is engineered as part of the certified protection concept: hinges and overlaps mount directly to the armoring cage.
Body design in CATIA V5 and by 3D scanning to OEM standards. Chassis and suspension are extended and adapted, brake lines and wiring harnesses extended, and a new one-piece stamped steel roof is produced. New large rear doors in square design get new windows and window lifters, the new cargo area large side windows; headliner, door panels, cargo area and floor are made to the new size.
