Special equipment for armored vehicles
In-house development and manufacturing of a wide range of special equipment: partition walls, interior components, sliding sunroofs, electric options and much more.
In-house development and manufacturing
Equipment for OEM programs and individual vehicles
Special equipment is developed and built in the same plant as the armoring: engineered in CATIA V5, manufactured by our own departments and integrated so that it works like original equipment. For OEM programs as well as for individual vehicles.
-

Partition walls
Fixed or with lowerable glass, with integrated monitors, controls and storage: partition walls separate the rear compartment and can be armored.
-

Interior components
Seats, consoles, trim parts and headliners, developed and manufactured in-house in the quality of the base vehicle.
-

Sliding sunroofs
Sliding and panoramic roofs, including armored glass roofs, integrated into the roof structure of the vehicle.
-

Electric options
Multimedia, lighting, intercom, sirens, controls and power supply, planned and integrated by our mechatronics team.
-

Protocol equipment
Flag holders, signal lights and further equipment for official and ceremonial duties.
-

VIP interiors
Complete interiors for limousines, vans and buses: lounge seating, work stations and entertainment.
Security equipment
Options that protect beyond the armor
The armor protects the occupants. The equipment around it keeps the vehicle mobile, keeps the occupants in contact and helps them to leave a dangerous situation. TRASCO plans, builds and integrates these options in-house, matched to the vehicle and the way it is used.
-

Signal and strobe lights
Blue or red LED strobe lights behind the grille or in the bumper draw attention in an emergency and help to clear a way through traffic. A siren can be added.
-

Roof light bars
Roof-mounted light bars for escort vehicles, integrated into the vehicle electrics like the rest of the signal equipment.
-

Fire suppression
A fire suppression system for the engine bay, triggered manually or automatically. On request, the underbody and the wheel areas are covered as well.
-

Protected components
Battery, control units and other critical components are covered with ballistic steel. An additional battery can start the engine if the main battery fails.
-

Underbody protection
Armor plates under the floor protect the passenger compartment against hand grenades detonating beneath the vehicle.
-

Wheels and run-flat
Rims with a proven load capacity, tires with a higher load index and run-flat inserts that keep the vehicle mobile after a puncture, long enough to leave the danger zone.
-

Brakes and suspension
Heavy-duty brakes, reinforced shock absorbers, springs and stabilizers keep braking and handling under control with the added weight of the armor.
-

Lockable compartments
A lockable safe in the glove box or elsewhere in the interior keeps documents and valuables secure, with its own key.
-

Heavy-duty jack
A jack rated for the armored weight, mounted securely in the cargo area so that a wheel can be changed on the road.
Also available
- Filtered air supply
- A filter unit in the trunk cleans the outside air in three stages and builds up overpressure in the sealed cabin, protecting the occupants against irritant gases. A gauge shows the overpressure, an optical and acoustic warning signals faults, and an emergency mask is on board. The system can also run as a permanent filtered air supply.
- Intercom
- The occupants speak with people outside without opening a door or window.
- Siren and public address system
- An emergency siren with a loudspeaker to address people outside the vehicle.
- Lowerable front windows
- The armored front windows lower partially, for example to pass documents.
- Fuel tank protection
- An explosion-safe or self-sealing fuel tank helps to prevent leakage, fire and explosion after a puncture. A shield protects the tank against fragments.
- Upgraded alternator
- For the additional power demand of the armored vehicle and its equipment.
- Door opening aids
- Gas struts help to open the heavy armored doors, and door check straps limit the opening angle to protect hinges and body.
- Second interior mirror
- An additional rear-view mirror lets the front passenger keep an eye on the traffic behind.
- Prepared wiring
- Cable ducts allow equipment to be added later without removing the interior trim.
- Blinding lights
- Bright lights at the front or rear deter vehicles that follow or try to block the way.
- Remote start
- Starts the engine from a distance, for example to warm up the vehicle before departure.
- Third-row bench and rear exit
- In SUVs, a rear-facing third-row bench for escort staff, with rear doors that release quickly from the inside.
- Heated glass
- A heated windshield and rear window keep the thick armored glass clear in cold weather.
- Tailpipe mesh and locking fuel cap
- Protect against objects being placed in the tailpipe or the fuel filler.
- Curtains
- For the rear doors, the rear window and the cargo area.
- Brush guards and winch
- Brush guards protect grille and headlights, a winch helps on difficult terrain.
Comfort and protocol
For official duties and long journeys
Rear compartments are planned around the way the vehicle is used: for ceremonies, for working on the move or for long journeys. Wood, leather and electronics are finished in-house to the quality of the base vehicle.
-

Parade roof
An electrically operated roof opening with a handrail lets passengers stand up and be seen at parades and ceremonies.
-

Bar and folding tables
Bar compartments for glasses and decanters, folding tables in wood veneer and storage compartments, integrated into the partition wall.
-

Monitors and entertainment
Monitors in the partition wall or in the headrests, media players and controls for the rear passengers.
Protocol
Flag holders
At state visits and ceremonies, flag holders on the front fenders carry national or official flags. The chrome holders are mounted on the fenders and can be illuminated on request. Together with signal lights, siren and parade roof, they complete the protocol equipment.
