A-KIP® is a partial, lightweight armoring concept against typical criminal attacks up to assault rifles. In level 6, the windshield, all four door windows and the window in the rear partition are made of bullet-resistant glass of approx. 33 mm.
Ballistic steel and composite materials protect all side doors, a section of the roof against attacks from 30° and the floor in the footwell area. An armored partition wall with a flat ballistic window behind the rear seats is designed similar to the original partition of the base vehicle. All four wheels carry a run-flat system, and the fuel tank is self-sealing and flame-resistant.

The program
Two A-KIP® protection levels
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is armored by TRASCO in A-KIP® level 6; a level 4 version against handguns is also possible. Both are lightweight, partial concepts; for higher threat levels TRASCO recommends fully armored vehicles in VPAM VR7 or VR9.
Handgun Class
A-KIP® level 4
Protection against handguns up to .44 Magnum: glass of approx. 22 mm in the windshield, all four doors and the rear side windows, and all four side doors armored. The partition wall is available as an option.
Certification
Certified ballistic materials, documented threat levels
All transparent and opaque armor components are tested and certified by a government-approved German VPAM test laboratory according to VPAM-PM 2007. In the protected areas, level 6 withstands the 7.62×39 mm PS Ball round of the AK-47; level 4 covers handguns up to .44 Magnum.
EU approval is available (via TÜV), registration worldwide is simplified, and the vehicle is built as left-hand or right-hand drive. The complete threat table below documents every weapon, caliber and test condition.

Special ballistic composite materials keep the conversion light: the gross vehicle weight rating stays unchanged, so the suspension, brakes and electrical systems of the Rolls-Royce remain original.
Partition wall like the original
The armored partition with its flat ballistic window behind the rear seats is designed similar to the original partition of the base vehicle.
Ballistic glass in original look
Bullet-resistant glass of approx. 33 mm sits in armored window frames finished in the original design.
Interior at the highest level
Interior components are adapted to the armoring with in-house developed and manufactured trim parts, so comfort and ergonomics are preserved for all occupants.

Which protection level is available?
The armored SUV based on the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is converted with A-KIP® lightweight armoring in level 6 “Kalaschnikow Class”, which withstands the 7.62×39 mm round of the AK-47 in the protected areas. A level 4 version against handguns is also possible.
Which areas are protected?
In level 6: the windshield, all four door windows and the partition window are bullet-resistant, and ballistic materials protect all side doors, a section of the roof, the floor in the footwell area and the partition wall behind the rear seats. As a partial concept, A-KIP® concentrates on these areas; for complete protection of the passenger cell, TRASCO recommends fully armored vehicles.
What is A-KIP®?
A-KIP® is TRASCO’s lightweight ballistic anti-kidnapping concept: certified ballistic glass, ballistic steel and composites protect the potentially endangered areas of the passenger compartment, while the vehicle keeps its driving character and appearance.

Does the vehicle look different from the standard model?

Is a right-hand drive version available?
Yes. The armored SUV based on the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is available as both LHD and RHD.
Can the vehicle be registered in the EU?
Yes. EU approval is available via TÜV, and registration in other markets worldwide is simplified.

The conversion is engineered and built in-house at TRASCO in Bremen, Germany.
