Protection concept

Armored or unarmored, to your requirements

Each extended limousine is available both unarmored and fully armored. The armored version is built in protection levels VR4, VR7 (formerly B6) or VR9 (formerly B7) according to VPAM-BRV 2009.

Brakes, tires and rims are matched to the weight of the armored vehicle, and a run-flat system allows emergency driving after a puncture.

Certification

Certified ballistic materials, documented threat levels

Armored TRASCO limousines use ballistic materials tested and certified according to VPAM-PM 2007 by government-approved German VPAM test laboratories. The program covers VR4 against handguns, VR7 (formerly B6) against assault rifles and VR9 (formerly B7) against armor-piercing ammunition.

Every limousine is also available unarmored. The complete threat table below documents every weapon, caliber and test condition.

TRASCO Engineering

Re-engineered in Bremen

The 50 cm extension is engineered like a new body variant: from 3D scan and CATIA V5 model to the stamped roof panel, the adapted technical systems and the painted, corrosion-protected body.

Extended limousine by TRASCO based on the Mercedes-Maybach S 680, side view

Design to OEM standards

Every extension starts with 3D scanning and CATIA V5 modeling according to OEM standards. The body is separated at the B-pillar, a second B-pillar is installed left and right, and the 50 cm center body segment with middle doors is integrated.

Roof and body panels

A 50 cm extended, single-piece stamped roof panel, adapted outer panels, new exterior panels, side sills and windows for the middle doors. Upgraded air suspension components of an armored TRASCO limousine

Technical systems

Braking system and driveshaft are adjusted to the extension, as are fuel lines, wiring harnesses, the electrical systems and the OEM air-conditioning and heating system. Every conversion goes through testing and quality control in the factory, on test benches and during test drives.

FAQ

Questions about the armored limousine

Your question is not listed? Our team will be glad to help.

How is the +50 cm extension engineered?

The body is 3D scanned and modeled in CATIA V5 according to OEM standards, separated at the B-pillar and extended by a 50 cm center body segment with middle doors and a second B-pillar left and right. Roof panel, exterior panels, sills, windows, brakes, driveshaft, wiring, fuel lines, air conditioning and interior are adapted to the new length.

Which base vehicles are used?

The extension is built based on the new Mercedes-Maybach S 580 or S 680 (Z223), supplied by the customer.

Are the limousines also available unarmored?

Yes. Every TRASCO extended limousine is available both unarmored and fully armored.

Which roof options are available?

All models can be configured with a standard roof height, a raised roof or a parade roof, depending on the operational and ceremonial requirements. An electrically operated parade sliding roof is available as an option.

Which protection levels are available?

Armored limousines are available in VR4 against handguns, VR7 (formerly B6) against assault rifles and VR9 (formerly B7) against armor-piercing ammunition.

Where is the vehicle built and how is it serviced?

The conversion is engineered and built in-house at TRASCO in Bremen, Germany. Service is available in four levels: in your own workshop, at trained local service partners, by the mobile TRASCO Flying Doctor team, or at the Bremen plant, supported by 24/7 hotlines and genuine spare parts including ballistic glass.
