Anti-Kidnapping Protection
A-KIP® lightweight protection
A-KIP® is the lightweight protection concept by TRASCO against typical criminal attacks such as kidnapping, robbery and carjacking, as well as road rage and violent protests. It complements fully armored vehicles: certified ballistic materials protect the critical areas of the cabin, while the vehicle keeps its weight class and its original look.

Level 4 and Level 6
Level 4 protects against handguns, Level 6 against assault rifles such as the AK-47, in the protected areas. The ballistic materials are certified to VPAM-PM 4 and PM 6.

The critical areas
Windshield, side windows, doors and roof areas of the cabin, depending on model and level. A-KIP® is partial protection by design.

Certified materials
Ballistic glass, ballistic steel and composites, tested and certified by government-approved German VPAM test laboratories.

Original weight and look
The vehicle stays within its original gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and remains virtually indistinguishable from a standard model.

A-KIP® for 10 vehicle models
A-KIP® is not tied to a single platform: TRASCO adapts it in Bremen to off-road vehicles and SUVs, sedans and sports cars. On some models A-KIP® is offered alongside full armoring.

Defender 110 & 130 with A-KIP®
Jaguar Land Rover has officially and exclusively authorized TRASCO, as Accredited Converter, to build the Defender 110 and 130 with A-KIP® lightweight protection. It is the result of a long development process with a constant exchange between the engineers of Jaguar Land Rover and the TRASCO design team.
The Defender with A-KIP® has its own website with models, options and the full test program.
