TRASCO Q Line · A-KIP® lightweight protection
The grand tourer with the TRASCO Q Line: A-KIP® lightweight armoring against handguns, striking the balance between excitement, refinement and protection.
A-KIP® level 4 · Certified ballistic materials · GVWR unchanged
The TRASCO A-KIP® (Anti-Kidnapping) concept is a lightweight, partial armoring concept according to level 4 against attacks with handguns, kidnapping, car-jacking or theft of valuables.
Only certified ballistic materials are used: ballistic steel combined with composite materials fitted inside the doors, and certified level 4 ballistic glass all round. The added weight is less than 150 kg and the gross vehicle weight rating remains unchanged, so performance and comfort are not compromised.
The roof, the floor, the A- to D-pillars, the sills and the overlaps are not part of the level 4 concept. For protection of these areas, TRASCO offers full armoring.
Certification
The A-KIP® concept uses only certified ballistic materials. In level 4, the protected areas withstand handguns up to .44 Magnum according to VPAM.
A-KIP® is a partial, lightweight concept for everyday risks. For higher threat levels, TRASCO recommends fully armored vehicles in VPAM VR7 or VR9.
Ballistic protection
The armoring is tested against defined threat levels. The exact weapons, calibers and test parameters are listed below.
| Threat | Test level according to VPAM-APR 2006 | Classification by PM 2007 (PM) BRV 2009 (VR) | STANAG 4569 AEP-55 (level) | Comparable to* DIN EN 1063 (BR), DIN EN 1522/23 (FB), BRV 1999 (VR) | Type of Weapon | Caliber | Type of bullet | Test condition | |
