Privacy Policy

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This policy explains what data we process when you visit this website and contact us, and what rights you have.

1. Data protection at a glance

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable person. This website is deliberately built to minimize data processing: it sets no cookies, uses no tracking or web analytics, and serves all resources – fonts, images and video – from this domain. No data is transmitted to third-party servers while you browse.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by a service provider on servers in Germany. When you access the website, the web server automatically records the following information in log files: IP address of the requesting device, date and time of access, the page or file requested, HTTP status code, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, browser type and version, and operating system. We process this data to deliver the website and to ensure its stability and security, for example to detect attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and error-free operation of the website. This data is not merged with other data sources and is stored only as long as necessary for these purposes. The hosting provider processes the data on our behalf as a processor.

4. No cookies, no tracking, no third-party content

This website does not use cookies, web analytics or other tracking technologies, and it does not load any content from third-party servers. Fonts, images, videos and the site search are delivered from our own server. Your browsing behavior is not recorded or analyzed, and no user profiles are created.

To keep the page header compact while you move between pages, the website stores a single technical entry without personal data in your browser’s session storage. It is deleted as soon as the next page has loaded, at the latest when you close the browser tab. The legal basis is Section 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG.

5. Inquiries and confirmation of receipt

You can contact us using the forms on our contact page (quick contact or guided inquiry), the inquiry buttons on vehicle and event pages, or by e-mail. We process the information you provide: name, e-mail address and your message as well as, optionally, organization, phone number, country, area of interest, vehicle, desired protection level, quantity, time frame, callback request and your customer profile. We use this data exclusively to answer your inquiry and any follow-up questions. The form is sent by e-mail to our sales team over an encrypted connection and is not stored on the web server; it is treated in strict confidence. You will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt at the e-mail address you entered.

Submitting a form requires your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent) and, where your inquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future; an informal message by e-mail is sufficient. We delete your inquiry once it has been fully handled and no contract results. If a business relationship follows, statutory retention periods apply (up to ten years). We do not pass this data on to third parties without your permission.

6. Service, spare-part and complaint requests

Using our service form you can send us service and repair requests, spare-part inquiries and complaints. We process the type of request, vehicle model, vehicle identification number, year of manufacture, the country in which the vehicle is located, urgency, your description, your contact details (name and e-mail address, optionally organization and phone number) and up to five files you upload (photos or PDF documents, together up to 20 MB). Please only upload images that are necessary to process your request, if possible without persons or registration plates. The request and its attachments are sent by e-mail to our service team; files are not stored on the web server. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) and Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract, warranty). We store the data for as long as it is needed to process your request and for warranty and limitation periods; statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

7. Applications

If you apply via our job pages, we process the information you provide (name, e-mail address, position, optionally phone number, earliest start date, message and up to three attachments such as CV and certificates, together up to 15 MB) in order to carry out the application procedure. The application is sent by e-mail to our HR department and is not stored on the web server. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (initiation of an employment relationship) and your consent. If your application is unsuccessful, we delete your data six months after the end of the application procedure unless you have agreed to longer storage.

8. Contact by e-mail or phone

If you contact us by e-mail or phone, we process your details to handle your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them according to the periods described in section 5. To protect against spam, the e-mail addresses and phone numbers on this website are only assembled in your browser; no data is collected in the process.

9. Site search

The site search runs in your browser. Your browser loads the required parts of the search index from our server; your search terms are not transmitted to us as text, are not stored and are not passed on to third parties.

10. Links to other websites and route planning

Our website contains links to other websites, for example to our A-KIP® website and to partner and press pages. Data is only transmitted to the respective provider when you click such a link; its privacy policy then applies. The map on our contact page is an image stored on our own server (map data © OpenStreetMap contributors); no map service is loaded when you view the page. Only when you click “Plan route in Google Maps” does Google Maps open in a new tab. From that point on, Google processes your data under its own responsibility; information can be found at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

11. Recipients and transfers to third countries

Within our company, your data is only accessible to the departments responsible for your request (sales, service, human resources, management). Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf as a processor. A transfer of your data to countries outside the EU/EEA is not intended.

12. SSL / TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the “https://” in the address bar and the lock icon in your browser.

13. Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3)); data processed before we receive your withdrawal remains lawfully processed.

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Where we process your data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the authority responsible for us: Die Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit der Freien Hansestadt Bremen, Arndtstraße 1, 27570 Bremerhaven, Germany.

14. Objection to promotional e-mails

We hereby object to the use of contact data published under our imprint obligations for sending unsolicited advertising and information material. We expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising, such as spam e-mails.
