German state authority puts the Defender A-KIP® through its paces

TRASCO Defender A-KIP® at the entrance of the DEKRA Lausitzring test center

Location: the DEKRA Lausitzring near Klettwitz in Brandenburg, Germany. Spanning around 550 hectares, the facility combines a licensed race track, a high-speed oval, an off-road area and a wide range of on-road modules for testing and set-up runs.

Participants: specialists of a German state authority working in the field of armored civilian vehicles and special protection.

Objective: a comprehensive on-road and off-road evaluation of the Defender A-KIP® under a variety of conditions and scenarios. Two vehicles took part: a Defender 110 with A-KIP® Level 6 protection and a 240 HP diesel engine, and the 5.0 V8 version with 525 HP.

Result: after a full day of demanding testing, the feedback was very positive. The participants particularly highlighted the driving dynamics of the Defender A-KIP®, which remain largely unchanged despite the added protection.

The test day confirms the idea behind the Defender A-KIP® concept: added protection for the critical areas of the passenger compartment, without compromising the original performance and handling of the vehicle.
