Cooperation of TRASCO & Volvo in the armored vehicle business

We are proud to announce that Trasco Bremen GmbH and Volvo Car Corporation are cooperating in the heavily armored vehicle business. Beginning 2019, Volvo Cars is expanding its product portfolio to include a heavily armored vehicle in protection level VR8. The new Volvo XC90 VR8 is developed and manufactured by TRASCO.

TRASCO is responsible for developing the complete armoring concept and the suspension, and for managing all ballistic certifications and road approvals. Starting 2019, the vehicle is produced in series and available through Volvo Cars.

The XC90 VR8 passed its full vehicle certification – ballistic (VPAM-BRV 2009) and explosive (VPAM-ERV) – at the official German proof house Beschussamt Mellrichstadt.
