IAA 2019
This year – at the world’s largest automotive show IAA 2019 in Frankfurt/Germany - TRASCO is presenting the new heavily armoured Volvo XC90 in protection level VPAM VR8. The full ballistic certification (VPAM BRV 2009) and the explosive certification (VPAM ERV 2010) with 12.5 kg PETN and 2 x DM 51 hand grenades has been carried out by the German authority Beschussamt Mellrichstadt.
The XC90 is the perfect canvas for this project. It sits high off the ground for a perfect view, and its T6 petrol engine means it’s powerful enough to carry the extra weight. The XC90’s size means that even with the armour, there is plenty of space in the rear for anyone to travel in comfort. The vehicle has a full EU road certification.
